Jermain Defoe urges Alfredo Morelos to move to Aston Villa, as he believes that the player has enough talent to play in the Premier League. The player was constantly linked with Aston Villa when they have shown interest towards the player during the January transfer window. The forward has scored 29 goals by appearing for 46 games in this season for Rangers.
Aston Villa has tried to bring Morelos to the English side during the January transfer window was one of the rumours which were proved to be wrong. Aston Villa boss Dean Smith brought Mbwana Samatta and Borja Baston to the club as the replacement for Wesley Moraes. But as per the new reports, Villa is showing interest to the player and meanwhile, Rangers are ready to give up the player.
Defoe, the former English striker, praised the positivity of the player. He says that the 23-year-old has the potential for a good career. While playing beside him he has seen the player’s ambition to score many goals. He believes can reach his full potential if he is given a good team where enough chances will be created to score a goal.
He describes Morelos as a player who tries to score a goal even in every game. He has this arrogance when it comes to scoring goals which make him a good striker. Defoe explains this can be seen when during the training sessions and he has utter belief that he can score in every game.
"You even see it in training sometimes, he misses chances and then you think 'yeah, but you had no right to score from there' but he still believes that he can go into every game and he can score,” said Defoe to Sky Sports.
Morelos has scored 30 goals in the last season and 29 in this season. He has not scored in the recent games which is a little frustrating for him.
