NEW POLICY AT VILLA

The Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has said that he has arrived at the club in order to make a seismic shift in the policy of the club.

As a result, he has said that fans cannot expect instant success because of the problems that the club has faced in the last few seasons. Due to these problems, Paul Lambert has to make a lot of changes. One of the major aspects that needs to be modified will be the squad and its depth. After spending a lot of money on the Martin O'Neill, Aston Villa have become extremely reluctant to spend more money in search of success.

As a result, Paul Lambert will have to work within a budget in order to bring Aston Villa back to the top half of the table and also in search of a European spot. The former Norwich manager has made some significant changes to the playing squad in the summer including allowing the former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton leave the club. Even though the club are yet to receive offers for the Scotland international, they are confident of selling the player before the end of the transfer window. Speaking ahead of the match with Everton during the weekend, Paul Lambert demanded patience from fans.

"We'll go and try and win every game we can. I'm pretty sure they [the fans] are not going to sit there and wait for you to take 40 minutes to get into the game and have your first shot at goal," said Paul Lambert ahead of the first match of the season. Aston Villa started the new Premier league era under Lambert with a defeat at the hands of West Ham on the opening day of the season. The defeat was marked by a lack of conviction in the Aston Villa attack.
